Brown Spore Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In bogs, and On rotten logs.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is extremely resistant.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores.
