Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 30 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in thin, rough, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is silver.

The sparse amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of giant, thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are blue and beige.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, cream blossoms with 7 oval-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like blood.

In early summer it produces , circular fruit. The smooth amber skin is peel-able and inedible, and the crunchy purple flesh is salty and dry. The faded yellow seed is tiny and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
