Bronzeberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, twisting trunk covered in delicate, cracked, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow.

The tangled mess of branches are very short and thick and are covered with large amounts of miniature, needle-like leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are white on the edges and olive at the center.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, pink blossoms with spear shaped petals. They are sturdy and have no scent.

In late summer it produces , fan-like fruit. The leathery bronze skin is tough and sweet and spicy, and the crunchy purple flesh is salty and very dry. The washed-out green seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
