Copperberry

This enormous fruit tree grows up to 52 feet (15.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 38 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in wrinkled, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is copper-coloured.

The branches are very short and thin and are covered with copious amounts of large, broad, flat leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in sky blue and light red varieties.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, white blossoms with long, narrow petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like new carpet.

In mid-summer it produces , stiff, pointed fruit. The rough lime skin is thick and very sour, and the soft hazel flesh is bitter and sour and sticky. The cream seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
