Crimson Ivy

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 42 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, curved stems covered in waxy, gray bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, spear shaped, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are light brown with red tips, frail and sticky.

It produces several medium-sized, brown flowers with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like lemon. In mid-autumn it forms giantsilver berries.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
Ivy often grows along the trunk.
It commonly grows in large patches.
