Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This large shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for around 98 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of thick, curved stems covered in fine, cracked, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are very short and thick that and are covered with small bunches of large, pleated, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are generally copper, light and covered in fine hairs.

In mid-spring it produces hundreds of giant, black flowers with 3 flame-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like cherry.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for making paper
It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
