Azurevine

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a flexible, curved trunk covered in delicate, waxy, brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.

The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of large, slender, pointed leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either brilliant purple, or azure with blue edges.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of small, black blossoms with many layers of petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are hardy and have a powerful scent that smells like warm milk.

In early summer it produces , spherical fruit. The clammy cyan skin is peel-able and inedible, and the crunchy azure flesh is sour and juicy. The beige seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
