Copperberry

This big fruit tree grows up to 26 feet (7.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 45 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in very thick, rough, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pine-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with sparse amounts of small, thin leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are magenta on the sides and intense blue at the center.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of tiny, purple blossoms with 5 pointed petals. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like citrus.

In mid-autumn it produces , needle-like fruit. The fuzzy cyan skin is stretchy and very sweet, and the very soft magenta flesh is salty and syrupy. The light brown seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
