Clinging Copperbloom

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 190 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several very thick, straight stems covered in delicate, rough, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, fan-like, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to gold at the top, rigid and smooth.

In mid-spring it produces a thick sheet of large, slate blossoms with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like leather.

In early winter tiny spherical fruits ripen. The soft indigo skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy grey flesh is sweet and very juicy. The yellow seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
