This emerald moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On trees, and In damp forests.
It is huge, growing up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly flimsy; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

The leaves are bitter, but very healthy.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
