Copperberry

This giant fruit tree grows up to 64 feet (19.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white with black speckles.

The sparse amount of branches are short and slender and are covered with large amounts of large, very thick leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in black and caramel varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, purple blossoms with broad, flat petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like a man.

In mid-autumn it produces small, oval fruit. The sticky light grey skin is delicate and inedible, and the very soft crimson flesh is bitter and spicy and very juicy. The florescent yellow seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
