Burgundy Leaf Shrub

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 69 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, angular stems covered in waxy, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, broad, flat, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in pink, orange and violet varieties, resistant and rough.

In early spring it produces a handful of giant, violet flowers with wide petals. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like skunk spray.
