Copperberry

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, twisting trunk covered in smooth, brown-green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The sparse patches of branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of huge, 6 pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are orange on the edges and gentle orange at the center.

In early spring, it produces many tiny, purple blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like cinnamon.

In late autumn it produces tiny, fan-like fruit. The fuzzy copper skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft red flesh is salty and dry. The light grey seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for making strong rope
