Blueleaf

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 143 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many stocky, twisting stems covered in thick, cracked, dark green bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are short and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, finger-like, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are light brown with bold blue tips, robust and smooth.

In early spring it produces many balls of large, dark grey blossoms with spiral shaped petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like fermented fruit.

In early autumn tiny long, narrow fruits ripen. The rubbery florescent orange skin is thin and sweet, and the slightly crunchy cream flesh is sweet and powdery. The green seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
