Clinging Vinefern

This large shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 17 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many thick, twisting stems covered in cracked, yellow bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with large amounts of giant, spear shaped, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are florescent purple at the bottom and grey with slate edges at the top, delicate and smooth.

It produces handfuls of small, muted orange flowers with many layers of petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like candle wax. In late winter it forms giantgreen, spiky-shelled seeds.
