Magenta

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in hard, knobbly, brown and grey bark, and inside, the dense wood is dark brown.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with handfuls of miniature, asymmetrical leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid black or silver, with pink streaks.

In early spring, it produces a handful of small, magenta blossoms with needle-like petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like lemon.

In early autumn it produces small, perforated fruit. The smooth sky blue skin is delicate and spicy, and the soft gold flesh is spicy and very juicy. The beige seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
