Crimson Clump Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On rotten logs.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is extremely flimsy.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
