Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas In rainforests, and In bogs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very delicate; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
