Amber Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 65 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in fine, silky, dark green bark, and inside, the light wood is silver.

The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with handfuls of giant, long, tapering leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in lilac and amber varieties.

In early spring, it produces a handful of medium-sized, sky blue blossoms with V-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like blood.

In early summer it produces tiny, spherical fruit. The sticky drab yellow skin is delicate and inedible, and the very soft aquamarine flesh is spicy and very dry. The olive seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is very resistant to fire damage.
