Emerald Flame Moss

This moss green moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In damp forests, On trees, and In bogs.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly frail.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release millions of spores.
