Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In heathlands, and In moorlands.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly durable.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
