Silverwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 694 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, wavy trunk covered in delicate, smooth, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale yellow.
The tangled mess of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with thick bunches of soft, huge, very thin leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are white on the sides and olive at the center.
In late summer it forms tiny, peach aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
