Ambergrass
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 167 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has many long and flexible, straight stems covered in hard, knobbly, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of large, stiff, pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are green and beige, light and soft.
In early spring it produces bunches of giant, amber flowers with asymmetrical petals. They detach easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like rotten eggs.
