Bronzeberry

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 36 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in ridged, brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is dark brown.

The sparse patches of branches are long and slender and are covered with large amounts of giant, finger-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are beige and caramel.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, pink blossoms with wide petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like glue.

In mid-autumn it produces small, long, tapering fruit. The smooth blood red skin is tough and edible when roasted; it is bland, and the crunchy bronze flesh is spicy and sticky. The yellow seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
