Burgundy Marsh Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In marshes, and In heathlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is extremely flimsy.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores.
