Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 15 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of narrow, slanted stems covered in fine, smooth, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches are long and slender with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of small, fan-like, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid gold with cyan patches, durable and fuzzy.

In late summer it produces many bunches of giant, dark grey flowers with kidney-shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like marzipan.
