Astral Berry Tree

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 57 feet (17.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 60 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in very thick, waxy, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is dark brown.

The small bunches of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with small bunches of small, circular leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are cream and amber.

In early spring, it produces several tiny, orange blossoms with perforated petals. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like musk.

In mid-autumn it produces small, oval fruit. The rough caramel skin is thick and inedible, and the crunchy pastel blue flesh is sweet and very juicy. The pastel red seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
