Bluebell Bush

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 143 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several slender, slanted stems covered in silky, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with small amounts of small, very thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are slate and sky blue, durable and leathery.

It produces clusters of small, dark yellow flowers with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like citrus. In late summer it forms smallolive seed pods.
