Blackfinger Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This large tree grows up to 74 meters (242.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 427 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in hard, silky, black bark, and inside, the very light wood is white.
The branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with copious amounts of soft, huge, finger-like leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in indigo and white varieties.
In late summer it forms tiny, olive seed pods.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
