This copper and gray-green moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly rigid.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
All parts of the caudiciform are edible.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
