Coniferous Water-Storing Fruit Tree

This large fruit tree grows up to 42 feet (12.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 31 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale brown.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, oblong leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are pink and slate.

In early spring, it produces a handful of tiny, lime blossoms with perforated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an intense scent that smells like fresh linen.

In mid-autumn it produces , needle-like fruit. The crispy pale orange skin is delicate and sweet and salty, and the soft pastel blue flesh is extremely bitter and powdery. The olive seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
