Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In rainforests, and In damp forests.
It is large, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is extremely tough.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
