Copperberry

This massive fruit tree grows up to 69 feet (21.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 57 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, twisting trunk covered in delicate, ridged, dark brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.

The sparse amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of miniature, stiff, pointed leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in red and copper varieties.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of giant, cyan blossoms with fan-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like alcohol.

In late autumn it produces tiny, circular fruit. The fuzzy gold skin is thick and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is salty and juicy. The bold red seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
