Copperflower

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This big flower grows up to 3.3 feet (99 cm) tall. Its moss green stems grow in bunches of 8 and are very thin and straight, and the large, copper leaves are asymmetrical with rounded edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

6 to 11 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 74 cm (29.1 inches) wide, with petals that are generally lime; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 13 curved petals. They are very delicate.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like damp, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
every part of the shrub is extremely toxic.
