Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is orange-yellow, and is dotted with small cream spines. The serrated-edged, pleated leaves are solid violet with orange edges. Small amounts of them grow from the base like a cabbage. The leaves are flimsy, and take little effort to detach.
It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with each petal a slightly different shade of amber grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is made up of 39 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. It has a soft scent that smells like cigarette smoke.
The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the lime flesh is leathery, and the crimson sap is thin.
