Crimson Vine

This short bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 23 feet (7.0 meters) and growing as high as 210 feet (64.0 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 4 months for the brown stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are smooth and woody.

The sickle shaped, sticky leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are a shade of silver that gradient shifts to crimson at the top, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the bine produces thick bunches of giant peach flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces lots of small seed pods.
