Burgundy Fir
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 446 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, burgundy bark, and inside, the very light wood is white with black speckles.
The branches are very long and slender, with hundreds of twigs covered with small amounts of giant, emerald needles. The needles themselves are tough.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, brown, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
