Crimson Succulent

This giant leaf succulent grows up to 147 feet (44.8 meters) tall. The thick stem is yellow-green, and is covered in sharp spines. The finger-like leaves are found in cream, silver and crimson varieties. Very large amounts of them grow on narrow, pink-red branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are pliable, but detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 30 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are indigo on the edges and caramel at the center grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is made up of 49 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. It has a powerful scent that smells like pineapple.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the pale purple flesh is smooth, and the crimson sap is thin.
