Brownfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 21 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in knobbly, silver bark, and inside, the hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The sparse amount of branches are short and thick and are covered with small amounts of small, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are lime and green.

In early spring, it produces a handful of medium-sized, light brown blossoms with 2 pointed petals. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like fermented fruit.

In early summer it produces tiny, long, tapering fruit. The fuzzy beige skin is delicate and edible when boiled; it is sweet, and the crunchy light brown flesh is bland and very dry. The cream seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
