Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In moorlands.
It is large, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is overwhelmingly light; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release millions of spores.
