Bluefire Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The wide stem is brown or hazel, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible beige spines. The pointed leaves are either washed-out orange, or deep green with blood red lines. Thick bunches of them grow on very thick, dark blue branches that are long, thin and wispy. The leaves are light, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is slow growing, taking 31 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with alternating petals of vivid purple and cream, with a blood red central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like rotten eggs.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the grey flesh is waxy, and the light brown sap is thin.


It is bio-luminescent.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is overwhelmingly resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
