Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In rainforests, and On rotten logs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly sturdy; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores.
