Brown Spiral Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In marshes, and On rotten logs.
It is huge, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is very delicate; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
