Indigo

This large tree grows up to 65 meters (213.3 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 193 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in delicate, cracked, light gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The numerous branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of waxy, huge, long, narrow leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are indigo at the bottom and red with dark brown lines at the top.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, beige berries.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
