This brown moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas On trees.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and can overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely robust.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
