Coniapple
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, wavy trunk covered in fine, silky, light brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is copper-coloured.
The abundance of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of small, very thin leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow that gradient shifts to silver at the top.
In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, blood red blossoms with wide petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like pine needles.
In mid-autumn it produces small, long, tapering fruit. The rubbery bronze skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is savoury and oily. The beige seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
