Crimson Heather Moss

This pastel red and grey moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In heathlands, In rainforests, and On trees.
It is large, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is very flexible.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
