Copperberry
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 49 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a stocky, wavy trunk covered in ridged, silver and white bark, and inside, the hard wood is copper-coloured.
The tangled mess of branches are very long and slender and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are azure on the edges and lilac at the center.
In early spring, it produces bunches of tiny, slate blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like pine needles.
In late summer it produces very large, oval fruit. The hairy dark brown skin is delicate and bitter and spicy, and the crunchy red flesh is spicy and sticky. The cream seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
