Copper

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 36 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, wonky trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is dark brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of huge, very thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally peach.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, slate blossoms with circular shaped petals. They detach easily and have the faintest scent that smells like pot-purri.

In mid-summer it produces small, circular fruit. The smooth purple skin is peel-able and savoury, and the slightly crunchy red flesh is spicy and sticky. The pastel green seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
