Emerald Flame Moss

This slate and lime green moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On trees.
It is average-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely durable.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
